Nine Studio 55 members have over 50 paintings and photographs for sale as part of a "$150 & Under" sale at Bambinos Italian Cafe on Battlefield and Lone Pine in Springfield. Prices range from $20 to $150.
Bambinos Cafe is hosting an artists reception on Saturday, December 2, 2023, from 4-6 pm at Bambinos, 2810 E. Battlefield Road, in the Community Room adjoining the dining room. Come support and visit with your fellow Studio 55 members.
Our speaker for our November meeting was artist and co-owner of "Formed: An Artist Collective," Laura Ingalsbe. It was an outstanding presentation by Laura of Formed Gallery and Forming Art Studio. There was a great crowd, a beautiful day, fabulous questions, and lively conversation. What an interesting discussion of how Formed Gallery and Forming Art Studio were created. Thank you to Tracy Bruton for these photos of the speaker for the November meeting and also the photos of members who brought art for viewing.

Bambinos Italian Cafe
Bambinos will be featuring art work for $150 and under.
The sale began after Thanksgiving and runs through the month of January, 2024.
You are invited to a reception on December 2, 2023, from 4-6 pm at Bambinos on Battlefield and Lone Pine (2810 E. Battlefield Road). Fifty-three pieces of art are for sale by artists Julia Barger, Nancy Dornan, Tracy Bruton, Linda Kirchner, Steve McGuire, Carol Siano, Luther Smith, Doug Steere, Gary Tebbenkamp, and Ursula Wollenberg. Thanks to Bambinos for hosting the reception.

NEW CLASSES
There are so many classes being taught by Studio 55 members that we have merged that portion of the newsletter with the separate Studio 55 website page devoted to classes. At this link, you can search through the various classes being taught or organized by members such as Nadine Ellman, Tracy Bruton, Cheryl Vowels, Meike Aton, Greg Chappell, Alicia Farris, Peggy Dyke, Tiffany Collins, Farley Lewis, Paula Moore, and Ursula Wollenberg. Obelisk Home
In recognition of its 15th Anniversary, Obelisk Home will be hosting the work of 30 local artists in its group show, "Celebration." The opening reception is during the First Friday Art Walk on December 1 from 6-10 p.m., in the Main Gallery at 214 W. Phelps Street, Springfield, Missouri. Among the artists chosen for this show are eight Studio 55 members, including Nancy Dornan, Alicia Farris, Linda Kirchner, Roberto Regalado, Ken Richardson, Carol Snyder, Linda Spencer, and Doug Steere. Some of those artists provided us with photos of their works selected for the Celebration show, and we've included those photos in a slideshow here.
Obelisk Home also has monthly participation in First Friday Art Walk and many other exhibits year-round at 214 W. Phelps Street. Regular hours: Tuesday-Friday 10am-6pm and Saturdays 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Gallery Artists who are also members of Studio 55 include Ken Richardson, Rebecca Lewis Smith, and Jane Troup. Our December speaker, Lee Brooks, will share her journey from being an accountant to obtaining a Master's degree in architecture to creating furniture, cabinetry, signs, pendent lights, and, most recently, jewelry. For her jewelry, Lee starts with "castaway" glass and creates the shapes that are tumbled, airbrushed, and embellished. Lee's website is here, and she also has an Instagram page with more of her artwork. Lee recently participated in "Art in the Park" and "Art of the Ozarks."
Andi Snethern was among those participating in the "Art of the Ozarks" Fine Arts Fair organized by "Formed: An Artist Collective" at Mother's Brewing Company on November 17 and 18. Andi received the award for "Best of 2D" at the show. Congratulations, Andi! Andi is also one of the Studio 55 members participating in the $100 & Under Holiday Art Market at the Springfield Art Museum on December 1, 2023 from 5-8 p.m.

Susie Sharpe
Susie Sharpe is sending warm greetings to her fellow Studio 55 members from the sunny Sarasota! Just five months after relocating to Florida, Susie celebrated her Debut Exhibit Opening Reception at the Art Avenue Gallery, the largest gallery on the Gulf Coast. The event was a tremendous success, prompting the scheduling of three more receptions at the gallery in the coming month.
Exciting news continues as CanvasRebel Magazine published an article this week highlighting Susie, her art, and her unique journey as a physician-artist.

Four members of Studio 55 had their art selected to be part of SRAC's show at Sky Gallery at the Springfield-Branson National Airport. The show, "Nature's Canvas: Art in the Ozarks," features works by Studio 55 members Meike Aton, Nancy Dornan, Ann Kynion, and Doug Steere. Photos of their artwork and others' artwork from that show are included in a slideshow here. The show runs through February 23, 2024.
