Claire Barber:

As I mentioned before that I am a self-taught artist. When I began creating in earnest about 10 years ago I spent a lot of time experimenting with different techniques and art mediums. I found that exploring multiple options using an art journal was an excellent way to express my creativity while improving my skills. I recently spent some time reviewing my earlier journals. The photos in this blog post are from a journal I worked on around 2016. This pictorial document of my creative journey makes me smile. I feel like I am living proof that you don’t need to be enormously talented to enjoy making art but only have the desire to express yourself. Art journaling is a fun way to use your imagination while improving your artistic ability. Give art journaling a try!

Welcome to Art Walk! For December's First Friday, we have 19 participating venues. Find the details here, at ffaw.org, or follow along at @artwalksgf on Facebook and Instagram. If you participate in this Walk this holiday season, please consider supporting local artisans and businesses for unique gift ideas! A large  number of our members are exhibiting at various venues.

We are very pleased and excited member Artist Linda Spencer will be sharing her thoughts and the path that led her to creating new artwork. Linda has been very busy painting some beautiful, creative and time intensive paintings ranging in size from small to large.

According to Linda "It’s my intention to create a series of 50 paintings  that I have loosely titled “the pages” from my sketchbook.. 29 paintings are completed.  I will endeavor to share with you the mysterious “why”? I will confess the pathway to choosing and creating my subjects.

In 2016, after 40 plus years of painting murals for commercial spaces, commissions for individuals and crazy projects, I started creating these images in my spare time. Our website is called Laughingwell Studio for a reason! Then came Covid with the gift of seclusion and time.

Start painting, it really is Playtime! You are invited to review some of our work by clicking here "

Linda Spencer and her husband Roberto Regalado create art for architectural spaces, homes, restaurants, hotels, retail, pools, exterior, signs, lettering, dioramas, backdrops, paintings, and commissions nationwide.Join her them on facebook by clicking  here
