The 2023 entries will be posted on the USFWS Flickr page when they are available. Artist Talk by Ceramicist Kendle Durden:
"In the presentation, I plan to cover my process and inspiration for both of my lines of work (sgraffito and slipcasting) in terms that the non-potter will be able to relate to, and to give the audience an understanding of my path in the art world.
A graduate of Missouri State University with a BFA in Drawing and Ceramics, it took a while to figure out what to do. After years spent working unrelated jobs and teaching ceramics part time, I decided to take the plunge to become a full-time artist. This has taken the form of doing art fairs around the Ozarks; and currently moving further out into the Midwest. I focus on functional ceramics that also have a twist of 'weirdness' to them, in the hopes that people will have an every-day piece of art that brings a bit of strange to their everyday life."
