Gailey's Breakfast Cafe


Gailey’s Breakfast Cafe will be hosting a First Friday Art Walk reception for Tiffany Collins, Pam Wilder, and Dana Neunschwander. They will have light finger foods and complimentary champagne to enjoy throughout the evening. As always, the kitchen and lounge will be open until 9 p.m. They will also have a live musical performance by pianist Chad Hughes from 6-9 p.m.

"Ozarks Icons" Exhibit


Studio 55 members Doug Steere and Teresa Fry received First Place and Second Place, respectively, at the "Ozarks Icons" exhibit sponsored by the McQueary Family and organized by the Springfield Regional Arts Council. The awards were announced during the First Friday opening reception at the Creamery Arts Center on September 6, 2024.

Kat Day


Studio 55 member Kat Day, who is a fiber artist specializing in bookmaking and small art quilts, will be participating in two shows this month. She will be at the C-Art Art Market on Oct. 6 at the Commercial Street Market and 
Art in the Park, Sequiota Park, October 12-13.

LaDonna Greiner


In September, Studio 55 member LaDonna Greiner participated in the 29th Annual Mosaics Fine Arts Festival in St. Charles, Missouri and the Overland Park Fall Festival in Kansas. 


On October 12-13, she will be at the Art in the Park at Sequiota Park.

Walnut Street Inn


Studio 55 members Rick Atwell and Jane Troup are Walnut Street Inn’s featured artists at 900 E. Walnut Ave., Springfield.

The Holland Building


Studio 55 member Doug Steere is the featured artist at The Holland Building, 205 Park Central East, for October.  Opening night on the second floor of the building runs from 6-8 p.m. during the First Friday Art Walk on October 4.


Doug has 17 pieces on display, including both watercolor and acrylic paintings. Most of the paintings are abstract in style.

"Pure Enjoyment"


Several Studio 55 members were juried into the Brewer Science exhibit, "Pure Enjoyment," which has an opening night reception on October 4 from 5-7 p.m. at the Creamery Arts Center. The exhibit is organized by the Springfield Regional Arts Council.

Twenty-Eighth Annual Senior Art Exhibition


Dr. Bradley Fisher recently sent us a copy of the news release providing details about next year's Senior Art Exhibition at Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts. The event will run from March 5-April 1, 2025.


Art drop-off is Monday, March 3 between 1-3 p.m. The opening reception is Thursday, March 6, at 6:30 p.m. More details are available in a PDF at the download button just below this text. We will provide more details as the dates approach.

Andi Snethern


Studio 55 member Andi Snethern will be the featured artist of the month for October at Tea Bar & Bites.

New and original watercolor paintings will be available to view and purchase. The opening reception is Friday, October 4 from 4-6 p.m.

Formed Gallery

Formed Gallery, at 210 E. Walnut Street, participates in First Friday Art Walk, features monthly artist exhibitions and other artists' work.  More information is available here. Art in the Park


Art in the Park is a yearly fine art and craft show produced annually by the Southwest Missouri Art and Craft Guild. Studio 55 members participating in the 2024 show on October 12-13 include: Meike Aton, Teresa Fry, Steve McGuire, Cheryl Vowels, Tiffany Collins, LaDonna Greiner, Dana Neuenschwander, and Kathleen Day.

Studio 55 member Meike Aton has art at the Branson Convention Center Art Gallery in an exhibition that opened on September 22 and runs through March 2025.


Meike is also participating in Art in the Park at Sequiota Park, October 12-13.

Obelisk Home


Obelisk Home has monthly participation in First Friday Art Walk and many other exhibits year-round at 214 W. Phelps Street, Springfield. Regular hours: Tuesday-Friday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m.-5 p.m.  Gallery Artists who are also members of Studio 55 include Ken Richardson, Rebecca Lewis Smith, and Jane Troup. This has been a busy year for Studio 55 exhibitions, with art currently on view at the Mudlounge (321 E. Walnut), Bambinos (on Battlefield and Lone Pine), the Walnut Street Inn, and the Elliott Robinson CPA firm (September through December, 2024). The schedule for 2025 Studio 55 member exhibitions is being created and will be announced in the coming months.

Sky Gallery, Springfield-Branson National Airport.  Studio 55 is invited to display art at Sky Gallery from December 2024-February 2025.  Art must be at least 36" on each side.  In September, an email was sent to members about this call for art.

Sherri Davis


Studio 55 member Sherri Davis will be the featured artist at Hotel Vandivort, 305 E. Walnut St., Springfield, during the October First Friday Artwalk on October 4, 2024. 

Juanita Lee


Studio 55 member Juanita Lee, along with duets partner Kenny Key, will be performing at the Oldfield Opry in Oldfield, Missouri at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2024. Earlier that day, from 10-11 a.m., they will be performing at the Marionville Community Event held inside the Pickleball Warehouse, 515 W Jonathan Drive, in Marionville, Missouri.

September 2024 Meeting


On September 11 we learned a lot about metalpoint! Our speaker, Jerry Hatch, explained the different methods and materials, and everything was interwoven with an art history lesson.  What a great presentation and what great art was shared.

Studio 55 members Linda Kirchner and Nancy Day are displaying their art on the 4th Floor of Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts through October.


In November, Linda Kirchner will be the artist of the month at Tea Bar & Bites.

"Mary Hamilton is a Missouri native. She was born in Sedalia where she attended
public school and graduated from Smith Cotton High School. She received her
B.S. Degree in Art and Language Arts Education from Southwest Missouri State
University (MSU) in Springfield, MO. She and her husband, Jim, have 3 adult
children and 4 grandchildren.


Mary taught Elementary and High School Art in Springfield Public Schools and has
been a professional artist for the past 20 years focusing on Acrylic paintings, pen
and ink figure drawings and found object collage. She has been featured by
various galleries in 6 one-woman shows and her work has been chosen for local
advertisements, posters, calendars and book covers. She is also active in jurying
art competitions and speaking about her art at visual artist groups in her community.


She is currently represented by Waverly Art Gallery in Springfield, Missouri and enjoys
gardening and creating books for her grandchildren."

Fresh Gallery


Studio 55 members Cheryl Vowels and Nancy Brown Dornan are the featured artists for October at Fresh Gallery.  Stop by during the First Friday Art Walk on October 4. The opening reception is from 5-6 p.m. on October 4, and Nancy will also have a book-signing there.


Fresh Gallery recently announced that they will "come to a close" on November 23, 2024. Please consider stopping by to support them during their final weeks. Operating hours are Wednesday-Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
