Wednesday, March 14th
1:00 p.m.
Program: “Exhibit Design”
Speaker: Cindy Quayle, Artist
and Exhibitions Manager at the Springfield Art Museum
National Avenue Christian Church
1515 South National Ave.
Cindy Quayle’s topic will be exhibition design used in the Springfield Art Museum and will include preparation, gallery selection, colors, setting and graphics. The focus will be how to create a cohesive design with the artwork for enhanced visitor experience. A Power Point presentation and a scale model of the museum galleries will be used to demonstrate the lay-out of a design.
Quayle has been the Exhibitions Manager at the art museum for 9 ½ years. Before assuming this position, she owned a gallery for 8 years in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Her work included custom archival framing, maintaining an exhibit space for a fixed group of artists, as well as rotating monthly exhibitions with outside artists. Classrooms were also included in the space for semi-private and group art instruction in varied media and styles. Quayle is also an artist, paints primarily in oils, and enjoys both studio and plein air painting.”
Members and guests are invited to “show and share” their art following the speaker. Please email studio55guild@gmail.com to register.
Cindy Quayle is the co-owner of Quayle's Nest Studio with her husband Allen St-Onge. See more of her art on her Facebook Page here

“From Vision to the Visual"
By Artist Mike Buesking
Springfield Art Museum Community Room
1111 East Brookside Drive
Friends of the Springfield Art Museum (FOSAM) and Studio 55 Fine Arts Guild are please to present a free public ArtTalk/Workshop by Mike Buesking. He will share his journey as a developing artist, as well as show some of his recent oil paintings and drawings.
Buesking has taught at Evangel University since 1991 and the ArtTalk and is familiar with the sometimes-uneasy relationship between Christianity, spirituality, and the visual arts. He said: " How does one deal artistically with spiritual ideas without the work seeming histrionic, trite or cliché?" Bring your questions and learn more about how this artist uses scripture for inspiration for some of his paintings. Seating is limited. To reserve your place call Sandra Letson: 417.496.1838 or email sandragraves@mchsi.com
